Tried & Tested

Solid tools I've used. Some still in rotation, some moved on from.

GPT-4o
GPT-4o ★★★★☆ Still useful for certain tasks, especially vision and voice. Claude handles most of my workflow now.
Codex
Codex ★★★★☆ OpenAI's autonomous coding agent. Solid at churning through tasks, but Claude Code is sharper.
GPT Atlas
GPT Atlas ★★★★☆ OpenAI's deep research tool. Good for long-form synthesis and multi-source exploration.
Linear
Linear ★★★★★ Best project management tool ever made. Fast, opinionated, beautiful. Overkill for solo work.
VS Code
VS Code ★★★★☆ The editor. Extensions ecosystem is unmatched. Cursor is interesting but VS Code still wins.
Notion
Notion ★★★★☆ Docs, notes, wikis, everything. The place where all my thinking lives.
LangChain
LangChain ★★★★★ The framework for building LLM-powered applications. Essential for anything beyond basic prompting.
Base44
Base44 ★★★★★ AI-powered app builder. Impressively fast for spinning up functional prototypes.
Lovable
Lovable ★★★★★ AI-first web app builder. Beautiful outputs with minimal effort. Great for rapid prototyping.

The Trash Can

Tried them. Didn't stick.

Google Bard
Google Bard Tried it. Went back to Claude within a day.
Copilot
Copilot Fine for autocomplete. Not a thinking partner.
Evernote
Evernote Used it for years. Notion replaced it entirely. Never looked back.
